Senior Ruby Developer

Our client is an Innovative Technology Company and are based in Dublin City Centre, close to transport links including LUAS, Dublin Bus and Dublin Bikes. They are now looking for a Lead Ruby Developer.

Our client's primary product is a Micro-learning Platform that makes people better at what they do. Developed at Harvard, our client's platform is the only platform scientifically proven to increase knowledge retention up to 170% and to increase proficiency gain by an average of 17%. Bite-sized, scenario-based challenges improve job skills in just minutes-a-day and identify coaching opportunities for managers to know who, what, and when to coach.

Their Product is utilised by 14 of the world's top 15 pharma companies and by industry leaders such as MasterCard, Medtronic, Synchrony Financial, Autodesk, Capital One, and more. The company is based in Boston, MA, with its European headquarters in Dublin.

Who they are looking for:

Our client is looking for a Senior Ruby Backend Developer to join their team. You will be able to solve complex technical problems to deliver new product features and show technical leadership in a development team. You are motivated to work with other team members to deliver regular releases of the next generation of our client's product. You always promote and contribute to quality in the development processes with a focus on providing efficient and reusable front-end components. You can develop and test software that meets business requirements and technical design. You take responsibility for the client-side coding and influence the team by mentoring and sharing your knowledge.
 

Role requirements: 

The company is ideally looking for someone with 7+ years with Ruby/Ruby on Rails experience working on software products with experience working in a Linux environment is essential. If you have a very good understanding and appreciation of using Ruby unit and system testing. Good knowledge with Data Modelling, REST API interactions, and gems along with tuning and diagnosing performance issues, ideally My SQL. If you have exposure to RabbitMQ you would be at an advantage but not essential. While also having an interest in Elixir is a plus and skilled in code versioning tools, preferably Git, GitHub, and GitLab.
